As we mentioned this morning, it’s 311 day. So what better way to celebrate than with a teaser about a tuner car called the 311RS Spec Blew. And as you can see above, it’s quite blue. If you aren’t familiar with 311RS, they hand build kickass Evo X’s in the Minneapolis area. The DNA is certainly there, their builds are based of the Gates311 Evo X Time Attack program. If you aren’t familiar with that? Well, Google it. Stop being lazy. Suffice to say, Ryan Gates built some badass Mitsubishi’s and 311RS continues that today.
Meet the 311RS Evo X.
Cool, right? Powered by a bunch of AMS goodies, the 311RS will deliver 120 more horsepower and 92 more torques than the standard Evo X you can buy at Mitsubishi dealers (for now…assuming anyone is buying them). That’s substantial to say the least, 353 horsepower and 359 pound-feet of torque and it can be yours for a starting price of $49,000. And it all comes with a tune to make everything work in harmony when you put your right foot down. Underneath, JRZ suspension bits help keep everything going the right direction and GiroDisc brake upgrades help you stop. Volk wheels, Nitto tires, JDM exterior pieces, and Jon Sibal livery, it’s a scene man! Visit any of those companies websites, and I had to just now get those links for you, and you can tell the priorities involve track days, racing, and well more track days.
Oh right, the special model. Sorry, I was all preamble and lost the point of the article. There’s a new model coming on April 7th from 311RS called the “Spec Blew”. If you are in the Twin Cities area, they are going to debut it at the Minneapolis Cars & Coffee event. Man, is that outside, must be brutally cold? Maybe they park all the cars in those habitrail looking things? How does it differ from the substantially upgraded 311RS? Well it’s lighter thanks to new components like a carbon fiber hood and it’s more powerful too. A lot more powerful. How does 500 horsepower at the wheels for $55K strike you? Yeah, I like it too. I may have to go take these teaser shots into a dark room for a few minutes. Oh sweet red top. Oh…didn’t notice those plaid seats…and done. I’ll give you a minute to peruse the pics while I go clean up.
We look forward to seeing the Spec Blew in a few weeks. In the meantime, perhaps these 311RS people are our kind of crazy and a trip to the Twin Cities for a test drive is in order. I’ll tweeter at them and see what they think.
