The video below shows a clearly experienced driver piloting a BMW E46 M3 to the max in order to keep pace with a new BMW M4 coupe. The M4, on the other hand, doesn’t look like the driver is as experienced on the Nurburgring as the driver of the E46 M3. Where the M3 picks up in the corners due to mass and driver skill, the M4 pulls back on the straights.
It’s important to note that the E46 M3 does have a few mods. It’s a decade old car for Pete’s sake. Most notable upgrades are KW Variant 2 coilovers, AP Racing brakes all around and perhaps the best upgrade of all — a square setup of 275/35/18 Michelin Pilot Super Sports. On the inside you’ll find Recaro front seats and the rear seats were removed for lightness. No doubt the M3 has seen plenty of miles around the ‘Ring.
Enjoy the video!
doesn’t look like the m4 driver is bad. Hard to keep up in corners since he probably doesn’t have equivalent tires
