After being handed the keys and spending the week with a new 2022 Lexus LC 500 Convertible I wanted to do my normal feature list by giving you the best and worst features of this machine. So here are the best and worst features of the 2022 Lexus LC 500 Convertible…..
PRO: Powered by a V8
While every other manufacturer seems to be lowering cylinder count and adding turbos you will be happy to know that the LC 500 still comes powered by a V8. It features a 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 which kicks out 471 horsepower and 398 lb-feet of torque.
PRO: Exhaust Note
Simply having a V8 usually means you will head in the direction of sounding good and the LC 500 definitely does. A very subjective Pro feature, but hear it yourself:
PRO: Exterior Looks
The ’22 LC 500 Convertible looks great sitting still. Not only does it look great stationery, but it also looks like it is fast stationery. It has all the right angles to make it eye-catching. My vote definitely goes to your coupe version looking better, but the LC 500 Convertible with the top down is a beautiful car.
PRO: Interior
The interior of the LC 500 just screams luxury at a glance. It features the LFA-like digital gauge cluster, drive mode knobs, a 10.3-inch navigation display, Mark Levinson stereo system, and all wrapped around visually appealing leather to bring it all together.
CON: Outdated Infotainment
After hopping out of the new ’22 Lexus LX 600 last week it is just so hard to go back to the trackpad I often harp on.
CON: More Luxury Than Sport
Some could dare to say that the LC 500 is a V8-spiritual-LFA in some ways. While the LFA was designed to be a case study in performance, the LC 500 is more a luxury vehicle with sporty tendencies.
