2022 Lexus NX 450h+ hero

I was fortunate to have the keys to the Lexus’ newest hybrid crossover – the 2022 Lexus NX 450h+ F Sport. After driving it for a week I got a feel for just what its most shining features were and a spot where it may let you down. Here are the PROS and Cons of the 2022 Lexus NX 450h+ F SPORT.

PRO: Great Hybrid Features

The 2022 Lexus NX 450h+ F SPORT is packed with a slew of hybrid options to control and options to showcase just how your hybrid system works. There are hybrid flow screens on both the gauge cluster as well as on the infotainment navigation screen.

At the press of a button you can also force the vehicle in full-electric mode (should you have the battery charged), force the vehicle to use the gas engine to charge the battery, or even have the vehicle decide automatically what it should do for the most fuel-efficient experience.

PRO: Electric Range

Speaking of that full-electric mode. I’ve tested some hybrid/electric vehicles where you earn a single-digit electric range, but that is not the case with the Lexus NX 450h+. Again, assuming you have charged that battery up, the NX 450+ gets an EPA-estimated 37 miles on full electric power.

PRO: Huge Infotainment Screen, Also Gone is the Touchpad

The literal centerpoint of the interior is the 14-inch touchscreen infotainment/navigation display. Everything is at your fingertips which means gone is the very hated Lexus touchpad.

PRO: Great Looking Hybrid Crossover

The NX 450h+ particularly with the F Sport package is a very good-looking vehicle for being a crossover.

PRO: Crammed with Driver Centric Features

The 2022 Lexus NX 450h+ F SPORT has everything a driver needs. Beyond all of the hybrid features, settings, and screens mentioned above, the NX 450h+ features a few drive modes to change up how the vehicle behaves featuring an ECO, Normal, Custom, and Sport S and S+ modes.

Each mode drastically changes the driver’s gauge cluster giving them the information they need to tie to the driving experience they are going for.

CON: $60k Crossover

The NX 450 AWD starts at about $57k. Once you check the box for the NX 450+ F Sport you are already at about $59k. Round up or check any simple feature on your build sheet and your north of $60k.
