Audi threw me the keys to a beautiful 2022 Audi S5 Sportback Prestige a week or so ago and that has left me itching to tell you all about its best features. Here is just what features are the best from this powerful machine from Audi and some things that Audi left on the table.
PRO: Interior Quality
The interior of the 2022 Audi S5 is just a great place to be. Being a Prestige package vehicle you get a slew of items standard such as the Ban & Olufsen audio system, heated steering wheel and rear seats (of course front too), and a heads-up display. The vehicle I tested also featured the S sport package, black optic package, dynamic steering, and fine Nappa leather seats.
PRO: Audi Virtual Cockpit
The one thing on the interior I didn’t mention above is because it always deserves its own section – the Audi Virtual Cockpit. The Audi Virtual Cockpit is the industry’s best digital gauge cluster.
PRO: Exterior Design
The S line of Audi’s definitely does its job with pulling some aggression from the RS models down to the more tame A lineup.
PRO: Industry’s Best All-wheel-drive Inspires Driver Confidence
When you say “Audi” the next thing you naturally want to say is “Quattro” and that is because it is the industry’s best all-wheel-drive system. The 2022 Audi S5’s all-wheel-drive system continues that superiority to the driver seat giving you the confidence to get around town, but also put your foot down and play.
CON: You Get Some Gargles and Pops, But Quiet for What You Expect from an S
While the looks are definitely pulling down some of the RS ethos, it is pretty tame for what you expect from an S in the soundtrack department. You do get a gargle or pop or two, but I would have wanted an even more aggressive exhaust mode in the more sportier drive modes.
