A new record for Volkswagen Group (comprised of VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda, Bentley and Lamborghini) of shipping out a high volume of cars, despite rising fuel prices and some countries with weaker economies. Compared to last year at this time, the VW group had an almost 30% increase in deliveries to some countries. In fact, every market had an increase, except for the US. Surprise, surprise. Overall, this means the VW group has shipped out 2.14 million vehicles worldwide in only 4 months (from Jan to April, an increase of 7.9%)!
Hopefully, by the end of our season, more Americans will realize the impact diesel fuel has and maybe VW’s sales will be boosted even more in the next quarters. I can’t wait to see how well the 2009 Jetta TDI’s sell!
