The image above was taken by David Nickerson II. It’s Johnny Bohmer’s record breaking Ford GT, built by Johnny’s company Performance Power Racing. Performance Power Racing has been around since 2007 and has modified the GT to crank out over 1400 horsepower. During the Top Gun Run in May of 2010 it became the first car to break the 250 MPH barrier. We’ve included a video in case you missed it.
We hope to see this car in the news again. Johnny estimates the car was only at 80% of it’s capacity and that we shouldn’t be surprised to see it reach the 300 MPH mark in 2011.
