I recently had the keys to Toyota’s crossover SUV the 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid XSE and I want to get right to the point on just what features of this hybrid machine are great and which weren’t so great. Enjoy the the PROs and CONs of the 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid XSE.
PRO: Baby RAV4 Vibes

When you get behind the wheel of the 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid XSE everything just feels straight out of a RAV4 and that is a welcome place to be. The interior is very RAV4-y, while the exterior to me looks quite like a baby-Highlander.
PRO: Hybrid Goodies

Being one of Toyota’s hybrid vehicles the Corolla Cross is packed with a bunch of functional hybrid features. The tac is a charge-eco-power gauge, it features an EV mode, and of course you can visibly see where the
PRO: Miles Per Gallon

One of the biggest PRO features has to be the miles per gallon that the Corolla Cross Hybrid XSE gets. It is tested to get 45 city, 38 highway, 42 combined miles per gallon.
PRO: All-wheel-drive

The Corolla Cross Hybrid XSE comes with a combined Hybrid power output of 196 horsepower. That horsepower gets sprinkled down through a trio of electric motors which sprinkles down to the all-wheel-drive system which is definitely welcome.
CON: The Name

My biggest gripe with the Corolla Cross of any trim is its name. I wish it had its own name instead of borrowing half of its name from the historic Corolla model.
CON: Rear Leg Room

Complaining about rear leg room is often like splitting hairs, but in the case of the Corolla Cross 6 foot and over folks are likely going to have some squished knees.
