As with most Cars and Coffee events, they tend to bring the same cars each week. Guess I got lucky as this time somebody brought out a Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale at the Fair Lakes Cars and Coffee. This unique Lamborghini is essentially the road-going version of the Gallardo LP570-4 that competes in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo — a European single-marque race series.
This bull has such amazing presence, even parked. It received so much attention that getting a clear view for snapping off a few shots was difficult. I often had to wait minutes for the crowds to clear out to compose and fire off a few snaps. I hope you all enjoy.
The slatted and vented quick release engine cover is a piece straight off of the track car. It’s made entirely of carbon fiber.
Just like the engine cover, the enormous carbon fiber spoiler is also the same piece found on the LP570-4 race cars. It dominates the rear view.
The unique 19″ wheels are also LP570-4 Super Trofeo specific. As are the rocker panel covers.
And the side mirror housings. This extensive use of carbon fiber and light weight materials shed more than 150 pounds from the LP570-4’s 3500 pound lump.
The remaining parts of this bull are standard Gallardo 570-4 fare. It’s actually powered by the same 570 horsepower V10 engine as all other LP570-4 models.
All the additional downforce and racing bits do provide over three times as much downforce as the non Super Trofeo equipped.
It’s difficult for a Lamborghini to blend in. If there ever was a sleeper color, this gray might be it. We understand the Super Trofeo is also available in Rosso Red, the reddest of all red colors.
But you’d never know from the crowd and audible shutter snapping of cameras.
