We are back home after a long two days in Detroit. And I’m still thinking about this Alfa Romeo Giulia sports sedan. A lot. Even without looking at the car itself, the specs are enough. 505hp and 443 lb-ft of torque come out of it’s Ferrari-derived 90-degree 2.9 liter Bi-Turbo V6 engine. Alfa says that will get the sedan to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds and top out at a Autostrada pounding 191 mph. Oh and how does 7 minutes, 39 seconds around the Nurburgring sound? Apparently it was a pre-production, perhaps a bit lighter, on racing tires, but that’s still fast. The nice lady at the Alfa booth told us that they expect pricing to be around $70,000 for the Quadrifoglio (hence the 4-leaf clover on the side) but I’m more interested in the “base” model. This 3-series sized sedan will probably sport a turbo 4-cylinder (making 280hp or better) and come in at 3-series level pricing. I’ll be watching with my own money in hand potentially. For now take a look at our first look video “live” from the North American International Auto Show floor.
