NASCAR and Formula 1, are they two poles apart? There are stereotypes of each. NASCAR fans and drivers are known to be southern Americans and like their racing simple and their turns left. Formula 1 drivers tend to be European, their drivers elitist and prefer their racing to be as technical as possible.
The international difference between NASCAR and Formula 1 aren’t as stark. NASCAR’s races are broadcasted to over 100 countries in over 20 languages. Formula 1 is broadcasted to over 200 countries. Their drivers aren’t so stereotypical either. NASCAR’s driver lineup has both open wheel and international drivers. Formula 1 has had more American drivers than any other country.
Technically the two are on different sides of the spectrum. Formula 1 uses data acquisition whereas it is illegal in NASCAR so they rely on driver feedback. In this event Tony Stewart and Lewis Hamilton swap their race cars to experience Watkins Glen from a seat. Enjoy!
