2025 Toyota Sequoia 1794 Edition: Pros and Cons

2025 Toyota Sequoia 1794 Edition hero

Recently, I had the opportunity to spend time with the 2025 Toyota Sequoia 1794 Edition, the boldest and most luxurious expression of Toyota’s full-size SUV. Blending rugged capability with Western-inspired design, the 1794 Edition stands out with its premium leather interior, open-pore wood accents, and powerful i-FORCE MAX hybrid V6 engine. It’s aimed at drivers who need serious towing muscle and three-row versatility, but don’t want to compromise on style or comfort.

In this review, I’ll break down the PROs and CONs of the 2025 Toyota Sequoia 1794 Edition to help you decide whether this Texas-sized SUV fits your lifestyle and expectations.

PRO: Hybrid Performance

The hybrid powertrain in the 2025 Toyota Sequoia 1794 Edition delivers an impressive mix of strength and efficiency, making it feel responsive whether you’re merging onto the highway or towing a trailer. It’s surprisingly smooth for such a big SUV, and the extra torque from the electric motor gives it a confident, capable feel in everyday driving.

PRO: Upgraded Tech All Around

The 2025 Toyota Sequoia 1794 Edition packs in modern interior tech with a massive 14-inch touchscreen that’s both responsive and easy to use, making navigation and media a breeze. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with the crisp digital gauge cluster, give the cabin a high-tech feel without being overwhelming.

PRO: Drive Modes & Multi-Terrain Modes

The Drive Modes and Multi-Terrain Select in the 2025 Sequoia 1794 Edition make it easy to switch between smooth highway cruising and off-road confidence with just the turn of a dial. Whether you’re tackling snow, mud, or uneven trails, the system adjusts throttle, traction, and suspension settings to keep the ride controlled and capable.

PRO: Towing Capability

The 2025 Toyota Sequoia 1794 Edition offers impressive towing power, easily handling boats, campers, or trailers with confidence thanks to its standard hybrid twin-turbo V6 setup. With a max towing capacity of up to 9,520 pounds, it’s well-suited for road trips, weekend adventures, and heavy-duty hauling alike.

CON: Bye Bye V8

The absence of a V8 engine in the 2025 Sequoia 1794 Edition might leave some traditional SUV fans missing the deep rumble and straightforward power delivery they’re used to. While the hybrid V6 is strong, it doesn’t quite deliver the same visceral feel or simplicity that many longtime truck and SUV owners appreciate.

CON: Interior Materials

While the 2025 Sequoia 1794 Edition has a stylish interior, some of the materials like the plastic trim on the center console and lower door panel don’t quite match the premium price tag.
