2026 Audi S5: Pros & Cons

2026 Audi S5 hero

I went into the 2026 Audi S5 expecting a loud, aggressive sport sedan, and what I found was calmer and more useful. Still, as a daily driver with real punch, it makes a strong case for itself.

PRO: S-Power

The 3.0 liter turbo V6 makes 362 hp and 406 pound feet of torque, and that torque is available at just 1,700 rpm. The old supercharged S5 made 349 hp and 369 pound feet, so this feels punchier in everyday driving, not just at full throttle.

PRO: Quattro All-wheel-drive System

In my opinion, Audi makes the worlds best all-wheel-drive system. Audi claims 0 to 60 in 4.3 seconds, and the seven speed dual clutch and standard quattro all wheel drive help it launch cleanly.

PRO: Great Looking Interior

Crisp clear displays sweep across the dash and the cabin is clearly designed with high quality materials. It also comes with ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and rear window shades, so it feels like it costs more than it does.

PRO: Tech Loaded

Along with the 14.5 inch touchscreen next to an 11.9 inch gauge cluster, you also can get an optional 10.9 inch passenger screen with a coating meant to hide it from the driver. It’s a neat trick if your copilot likes watching videos while you drive.

CON: The Gap Between S to RS Is Getting Larger

The S5 makes 362 hp, while the 2027 RS5 jumps to 630 hp, a gap of 268 hp. That’s nearly triple the 95 hp gap between the old 349 hp S5 and the 444 hp RS5 it sat under, the S badge now feels like a mild step instead of a true performance one.

CON: Heavy

Curb weight is 4,288 pounds, which is a lot for a car with a 114.0 inch wheelbase. You feel that mass when you push hard, even with quattro hiding much of it.
