it’s no secret that we love hot hatchbacks here at RFD. And while historically, I’m a rear wheel drive guy, I have come to really love our long-term Focus ST. So when I heard that a front-wheel drive car lapped the Nürburgring as fast as as a production Pagani C12 S and an Audi R8 V10, I was impressed. When I found out it was faster than a Porsche 911 GT2, a Lamborghini Murciélago, and a Ford GT I was floored.
It’s still an unofficial record, run in a purpose-built vehicle with 286 HP and only weighing 2215lbs, but it’s pretty amazing nevertheless.
