2026 Audi RS6 Avant: Pros and Cons

2026 Audi RS6 Avant hero

The 2026 Audi RS6 Avant is one of those cars that sounds like a joke until you drive it. It is a wagon, a proper five-seat family hauler with loads of cargo space, and it will pull 60 mph in 3.3 seconds from a 621-horsepower twin-turbo V8. It is not cheap, and the 14 mpg city rating is the real cost you need to budget for. But if you want one car that does everything, a Sunday drive, a Costco run, a school pickup, and a genuine moment of shock on an on-ramp, nothing on sale right now does it better.

PRO: Serious Power

621 horsepower in a “family” wagon is a genuinely absurd number, and the 3.3-second 0-60 time proves it isn’t just on paper. You will not struggle to merge on a highway.

PRO: RS Features

The RS-specific upgrades are what truly separate the 2026 Audi RS6 Avant from an ordinary Audis. Drivers can also customize the experience through dedicated RS drive modes, allowing the wagon to transform from a comfortable family hauler into a vehicle capable of sprinting from 0-60 mph in about 3.3 seconds.

PRO: Luxurious Interior

Standard equipment includes leather, carbon-twill trim, and a Bang and Olufsen sound system, all without touching the options sheet. The materials quality is genuinely strong for the most part, even if some of the plastics and interface design are starting to show their age on the platform.

PRO: Exterior Looks

The widebody fenders, low stance, and RS trim give the RS6 a presence that is hard to ignore in a parking lot full of black SUVs. It manages to look aggressive without being loud, which is a difficult balance to strike on a car that is also supposed to pick up the kids from school.

PRO: Quattro All-wheel-drive

The rear-biased torque split means it drives rear-wheel-drive in normal conditions but has the security of full AWD when things get slippery. It is one of the few performance cars you can actually drive year-round.

CON: Incredible Cost

Audi has engineered a car that is easy to option into the $160,000 range, and some of those additions are hard to resist once you start clicking boxes. Go in with a firm budget or you will be surprised at the final number.

CON: Fuel Economy

14 miles per gallon in the city and 21 on the highway are numbers that will sting every time you fill up, and you will fill up often, but who cares you get 600+ horsepower.
