Meet the RealTime Racing TLX GT returning to Pikes Peak

This is the RealTime Racing all-wheel drive TLX GT to be piloted by Peter Cunningham at the 2019 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

This TLX GT is powered by Acura’s twin-turbocharged J35 V6 that had been used in past Pirelli World Challenge series competitions. The powertrain has been uniquely tuned for the challenges of Pikes Peak and the extreme elevation changes. Boost pressure and turbo operation has been custom mapped by Honda Performance Development (HPD) and optimizes performance, compensating for decreased oxygen levels all the way up to 14,115 foot summit.

Transmission gearing has been modified to maximize acceleration out of the courses’s tight hairpins and the suspension has also been specifically developed to handle the terrain.

Shocker, the TLX GT has loads of loads of aerodynamic bits to increase downforce. Most notably different from 2018 is the new rear diffuser configuration.

In 2018, the TLX GT finished on podium and the 2018 Open Class Record. It will be exciting to see what 2019 holds.

For those unfamiliar with racing driver Peter Cunningham, he’s been piloting Acura race cars dating back to 1992 and owner of RealTime Racing.
