McLaren Automotive expands it’s Motorsport Offerings with the new 720S GT3.

Building upon an already successful customer-focused motorsports program, the all new 720S GT3 will begin testing next year with race activities set for 2019.

“McLaren is built on racing and providing our growing family of customers with unique and exhilarating driving experiences. It therefore makes sense for us to unveil a dedicated, widened motorsport programme designed to support and enable more of our customers to focus on enjoying the thrill of pushing our cars on the track.” – CEO, Mike Flewitt

Featuring McLaren’s MonoCage II structure the 720S GT3 will take advantage of a race-prepped version of its 4.0 liter, twin-turbo V8 and sequential six speed gearbox. Aerodynamics are handled by lightweight carbon fibre body panels, front splitter, dive planes, and GT3-specific rear wing.

What does that mean for you? It means manufactures are stepping up their game in meeting the needs of its customers to get out there and really drive their product the way they are meant. In fact, Mclaren is even going so far as to attempt to turn customers into racing drivers through its Driver Development Programme. Now that’s an extra line item worth checking off on the order form.
