The video below, courtesy of SVTperformance.com, shows a 2013-2014 Ford Mustang SVT Shelby GT500 lapping the Nürburgring in about 7’39”. This is two seconds slower than the recent time recorded by GM with the Camaro Z/28. You can watch the Z/28 video here if interested. It takes but just a moment for the Mustang hating Youtubers begin their congratulations on the lap time — being that the Shelby GT500 packs 155 horsepower more than the Camaro Z/28. Watch the video…
Watching the video shows the Mustang GT500 to be a bit uncertain on corner entry and at times borderline unruly. The GT500, with driver, likely tips the scales over 4000 pounds. We all know a quick pulley swap and tune can easily net 700 horsepower and God knows how much torque. With power like that I commend the guy for simply making a complete lap and coming out alive.
