The 2026 Uncharted breaks that streak with a base Premium trim that sends 221 horsepower to the front wheels only, and somehow still manages over 300 miles of estimated range for $34,995. It’s a strange first for a brand built entirely around Symmetrical All Wheel Drive, but the reasoning becomes clear once you look at where this car actually comes from. The Uncharted is Subaru’s version of the redesigned Toyota C-HR Electric, sharing its platform, its dual motor setup, and most of its spec sheet.

The dual motor GT trim launches from 0 to 60 mph in about 4.2 seconds. That kind of acceleration puts it ahead of most compact electric crossovers on sale today, regardless of price.
PRO: All-wheel-drive EV
The AWD trims produce 338 horsepower, more than both the Hyundai Kona EV and Kia Niro EV. That extra power shows up in real world acceleration and highway passing, not just on a spec sheet.
CON: It Isn’t Really a Subaru
While being on a Toyota platform is a big plus, it really takes away from your own identity. This is like back when the Scion F-FS, Toyota GT86, Subaru BRZ were all the same vehicle. This feels like round 2 of that. Buyers are largely paying for styling and badge differences rather than genuinely different engineering underneath.
