I’ve had my fair share of experiences behind the wheel of various Mazda SUVs, from the nimble CX-30 to the spacious CX-9. Now, Mazda has introduced the 2025 CX-50 Hybrid Premium Plus, and I was eager to see how it stacks up against its siblings. After a week of testing, I delved into the features that impressed me the most and those that fell short. Here’s a breakdown of the PROs and CONs of the 2025 Mazda CX-50 Hybrid Premium Plus.
PRO: Exterior Looks

Mazda’s SUVs certainly look much like each other, but that is a good thing as Mazda makes some pretty good looking sharp styled vehicles.
PRO: Simple Infotainment System

The infotainment system in the 2025 CX-50 Hybrid Premium Plus is designed with simplicity in mind, allowing for intuitive navigation and ease of use while driving. A clean interface with five options is all you get and all you need. Straightforward controls enable drivers to access features quickly and focus on the road.
PRO: Strong Interior Compared to Cost
The interior of the 2025 CX-50 Hybrid Premium Plus showcases high-quality materials and technology offering a premium feel that rivals more expensive competitors.
PRO: Driving Experience

The driving experience in the 2025 CX-50 Hybrid Premium Plus is characterized by responsive handling and a smooth ride, providing an engaging connection to the road. Its hybrid powertrain delivers a seamless blend of power and efficiency, making every journey enjoyable and efficient.
CON: Weird Drive Mode Choices
The 2025 CX-50 Hybrid Premium Plus features three drive modes and they are odd choices. You get Power, Normal, and a Trail Mode. Power I can compare to Sport.
CON: Very Bland Gauge Cluster

I just got out of a ’24 CX-90 Premium Plus which has a full crisp clear gauge cluster and compared to that, the 2025 Mazda CX-50 Hybrid Premium Plus’s gauge cluster was severely lacking.
